- Spent 2005-14 as the first full-time president/CEO of CFL’s Saskatchewan Roughriders, leading the team to four Grey Cup games, winning in 2007 and 2013, while overseeing unprecedented profits for a community-owned franchise that nearly folded because of debt in the 1990s.
- Played offensive line for Thom Trojans and Regina Rams, winning back-to-back national junior championships (1970-71) and being named the league’s top lineman, before a four-year pro career that ended after the Riders lost the 1976 Grey Cup.
- Began teaching after earning education degree at University of Regina. Earned masters degree from University of Oregon and moved up administratively to become Director of Education for Qu’Appelle Valley School Division while coaching numerous football, hockey, soccer and baseball teams.
- Inducted into Canadian Football Hall of Fame and Roughriders Plaza of Honour, awarded University of Regina Lifetime Achievement Medal, CFL’s Distinguished Leadership Award, Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal and Saskatchewan Centennial Medal … Served on a variety of community, fundraising and school boards, including CFL Alumni, SaskPower and Regina Exhibition Association.
