Organized and coached inaugural University of Regina women’s hockey club team in 1997-98, winning the Saskatchewan Senior A championship and leading to establishment of a varsity program.
Coached minor hockey teams in Regina, winning one provincial and two city ch in the mid-1980s before setting up programs through his North Regina Hockey Camp that helped teachers and other coaches get girls involved in the sport. Sponsored and organized Regina’s first female hockey camp in 1989.
Coached the city’s first 18-and-under girls team (Blades) to the provincial final.
A long-time teacher and hockey player, also served on Saskatchewan Amateur Hockey Association and Queen City Minor Hockey Association executives, overseeing female hockey… Coached Miller football team to city and provincial high school championships in 1970 and 1971… Earned 1993 Award of Merit and 20-year distinguished coaching award from Regina High Schools Athletic Association.
