A competitive swimmer and water polo player when she accepted a scholarship from Washington State University, where she switched her focus to track and field; won first Canadian shot put title in 1990; attended 1991 Pan-Am Games and 1992 Summer Olympics, where she placed 15th in shot put.
17 time national champion between 1991-2003 – 15 titles for shot put, two for discus – while attending Olympic trials, Francophone Games, Commonwealth Games, Pan-Am Games and world athletes championships; won gold medals in shot put and discus at 2005 World Masters Games and held nine world masters records in throwing events at time of induction.
Coached University of Alberta athletes team; was throws coach for numerous Canadian athletes attending international events; board member for Edmonton and Alberta organizations, Special Olympics, Athletes Canada and Athletics Canada.
