After playing minor football with Eastend Bombers and Campion-Dales he also played junior hockey in the 1930s and ’40s with the Regina Abbotts and Commandos and baseball with the Regina Caps and Red Sox . . . a halfback, fullback and punter, Sullivan John Glasser played in 1942 with the amalgamated Regina Roughriders/Navy squad before joining the Navy, where he continued playing until returning to the Riders in 1945 . . . he declined offers from the Toronto Argonaut and Ottawa Rough Riders, preferring to play at home in Regina for $300 per season . . . injuries hindered his career, and a heart attack ended his playing days in 1958, but in 1955 at the age of 33 he gained 500 yards on 100 carries . . . a singer of repute he also became well-known for his musical shows and as a radio commentator.
