Kit Peterson - (2006)
Athlete:
Handball
Began playing handball at University of Winnipeg in 1969
Won Molson’s tournament in 1970 and Niagara Falls Open in 1971
Moved to Regina in 1974 and played competitively until 1992
During nine-year retirement taught junior and women’s handball classes
Placed first or second in over 300 tournaments
Winner of 18 Saskatchewan Closed singles titles and 20 Saskatchewan Closed doubles titles throughout the 1970’s, ‘S0’s and ’90’s
Won 10 Saskatchewan Open doubles up to 2006
Canadian over-3S singles champion in 1991, over-40 singles champion in 1992 and over-SO finalist in 2004
Placed third with Merv Deckert in over-SO doubles at 2003 world championships in Dublin, Ireland
