Stopped playing basketball in Grade 11 to coach the girls’ team, beginning a coaching career that included football, track, volleyball, baseball, softball and hockey.
After volunteering with Regina High Schools Athletic Association, served as commissioner 1990-94 and 2000-03, when he moved championships of various sports into larger venues and got them televised.
As first executive director of Regina Soccer Association began front-line involvement in getting new facilities, including the Credit Union EventPlex, Leibel Field and Mosaic Stadium.
Committee work includes 2005 Canada Summer Games, 2009 USports women’s basketball championship, 2010 Olympic Torch Relay and 2014 North American Indigenous Games.
Received numerous recognition awards; member of Regina City Council 2006-19.
