Won Ironman world championships in Hawaii for men 65-69 in 2006 (setting age group record of 11:29:29), 2007, 2008 and 2009 (lowering mark to 11:11:53) and in 2011 won 70-74 with a record of 11:14:24. Full ironman races comprise a 3.8-kilometre swim, 180-km bike ride and 42.2-km run . . . won five other international ironman events in his age categories . . . won Canada Ironman in 2006, 2007 and 2008 in men’s 65-69 and 2009 and 2011 in men’s 70-74 . . . began competing in Saskatchewan road running events in 1980 before advancing to marathons, triathlons and half-ironman events throughout Western Canada, North America and Europe . . . at time of induction had completed 17 half-iron triathlons and 20 full ironman triathlons . . . SaskSport Masters athlete of the year in 2006 and 2011 and Triathlon Canada’s three-time grand master athlete.
