- played three years of junior football with Regina Rams, two-time all-star, before becoming equipment manager in 1962; became Rams director in 1969, served as president in 1976-77; negotiated merger with Alberta to become Prairie Junior Football League; active fund-raiser
- secretary of Canadian Junior Football League from 1979-92 and registrar from 1993-97; awarded lifetime membership from Rams in 1999, CJFL in 1997.
- as employee of Saskatchewan government’s sport, cultural and recreation department, helped establish SaskSport and its administration centre, attended Canada and Western Canada Games as province’s chef de mission; served as NCCP provincial co-ordinator, helped form Coaches Association of Saskatchewan
