Took over responsibility of running the Queen City Minor Football league after the death of his father in 1968 and continued to operate the League until 1985

Leibel Field, which Charles helped to develop, was named in his honour in 1955
Honoured by the Roughriders in 1982 as a builder of Regina minor football
Named an honourary life member of the football referee’s association in 1988
Involved with the Boy Scouts, Girl Guides, St. John’s School, Camp Monahan and was a member of the YMCA from 1936 to 2001
