husband and wife officially involved with Regina Ladies Softball League since 1975, when Matt became president, groundskeeper and umpire-in-chief, while Berniece, a former player and coach, has been the league’s statistician, responsible for fundraising bingos, updating media and organizing tournaments
Berniece has been a team manager and certified coach, usually as a hitting instructor, and played in a masters league; Matt was a long-time league coach who helped with fund-raising and mentoring umpires; both responsible for overseeing a tournament that started in 1970’s
amalgamated two women’s leagues in Regina, growing the league from eight teams to 20; instrumental in the development of four outstanding softball diamonds at Douglas Park
